How to read these figures
- Each home is counted in the province whose register lists it, as Vitrine retrieved that register. A home merged as a duplicate is counted once.
- Scores compare homes only within a province, because each province's score rests on its own regulator's records. That is why there is a median for each province but no national median. What the score rests on in each province.
- "Regulator records" are the licence, inspection and enforcement records shown in each home's "Licence and enforcement record" section. Food-safety inspections are counted separately.
- Quebec publishes no inspection results for its private seniors' residences, so no Quebec home has regulator records here. A Quebec score rests on what each residence declares to the province's registry. Quebec's food-safety convictions appear on its residence pages but are not inspection records, so the food-safety column does not count them.
- Manitoba and Prince Edward Island have no Vitrine Score yet: their homes read "not yet scored" until the province's inspection data supports a fair score.
- Vitrine holds no price data, so these figures say nothing about cost.
